Pardon Crandall was born January 8, 1761, in Hopkinton, Washington, Rhode Island. His parents were Nathan Crandall and Bathsheba Pierce. He was the eighth child from a family of eleven, his siblings being: Tacy, Fannie, Daniel, Bathsheba, Ezra, daughter, daughter, Asa, daughter, and Annie.
Pardon was a soldier in the Revolutionary War. He was the first Crandall to move from Rhode Island. He move to and remained in Washington County, New York.
Pardon married Susannah Wells in 1783, in Hebron, New York. They had ten children:

In the 1790 census Pardon was in Easton; in the 1800 census, he was in Hebron; and in the 1810 census he was in Caldwell. Pardon's wife, Susannah Wells, died prior to 1806.
Pardon married Martha LaBaron in 1806. They had five children:

Pardon's wife, Martha LaBaron, died in 1826. Pardon Married Tamar Partridge. They adopted a child, Barton Dodge. Pardon died March 24, 1837, in Caldwell, Washington, New York.
